Your new favourite country inn and restaurant in the heart of Marlborough. Rooted in the spirit of old-fashioned hospitality with a modern twist, The Marlborough is a place to slow down, connect, and enjoy the good things in life, with seasonality at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re joining for a drink by the fire, a lazy Sunday lunch, or a stay in one of our beautifully restored rooms, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting.
For generations, the inn has been part of Marlborough’s story; a place where locals and visitors alike gather to eat, drink, and celebrate. Following a thoughtful refurbishment, The Marlborough now enters a new chapter, honouring the charm of its historic Grade II listed building, while adding fresh touches of comfort and contemporary style.
There’s nothing quite like Sunday at The Marlborough. The fire’s glowing, the gravy’s rich, and the roast is served just as it should be; comforting, hearty, and full of flavour. Choose from succulent roast chicken, perfectly pink beef sirloin, or slow-roasted pork belly, each accompanied by golden roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and Yorkshire puddings that never disappoint.
Gather family and friends, raise a glass, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a Sunday done properly.

With a passion for honest, seasonal food, The Marlborough kitchen led by Executive Chef James Wills, celebrates the best of local produce. The menu features a mix of refined pub classics, sharing plates, and signature dishes; all thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
From breakfast and light lunches to evening suppers and Sunday roasts, there’s something for every appetite and occasion. Pair your meal with a selection from our wine list, local ales, or a handcrafted cocktail; best enjoyed with good company and plenty of conversation.
The Marlborough’s rooms have been lovingly restored to blend timeless character with modern comfort. Each one tells a story; heritage textures, calm tones, and a few thoughtful surprises designed to make you feel at home.
Whether you’re escaping for a countryside weekend or extending your stay after dinner, The Marlborough offers the perfect retreat. Wake to the sounds of the market town stirring, breathe in the fresh Wiltshire air, and feel a world away; without being far at all.

The Marlborough welcomes four-legged friends with open arms. After a long countryside walk, step inside for a well-earned drink by the fire; muddy boots and wagging tails very much encouraged.
With scenic trails on our doorstep and plenty of cosy corners to settle into, our inn is the perfect place to relax, refuel, and enjoy the company of your dog. Because here, every guest; big or small, human or hound, is part of the family.

At The Marlborough, hospitality begins with community. The inn has always been a place for neighbours to meet, share stories, and feel at home; and that spirit continues today.
We take pride in creating a true local’s inn; one that supports local producers, celebrates the region’s character, and offers a warm welcome to all. Whether you’re here for a pint after work or Sunday lunch with friends, you’ll always find good company and good conversation waiting.

We are heartbroken to share the devastating news that our much loved General Manager and dear colleague, Cameron, tragically passed away at the weekend.
Cameron was at the very heart of The Marlborough. His warmth, leadership, dedication and kindness shaped not only our business, but our team and the community around us.
He was deeply respected, hugely admired and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
As a mark of respect, The Marlborough will be closed this week to allow our team time to grieve and support one another.
We will reopen our restaurant and bar at 12pm on Friday 27th February, resuming normal service.
In the near future, we will share details of a gathering to celebrate Cameron’s life and the extraordinary impact he had on so many of us.
We ask that you keep Cameron’s wife, two young children and family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion.
